Enter Stage Left, CBD Oil
We have learned about the awesomely powerful, always working for us Endocannabinoid system (if you missed my first blog article on the Endocannabinoid system, check it out here: “Endo-Canna-What Now?”). We have learned that it is basically a self-regulating, self-harmonizing system in every mammal’s body that sends neurotransmitters all throughout the body making sure everything is all good. But how do we feed this system for optimal health?
May I introduce you to my good friend the hemp plant. As stated before hemp has been around a long, long time. It was praised for a long time, then demonized, and now it is beginning to be praised once again. And that is a wonderful thing. You see the hemp plant is very rich in cannabidiol compound (CBD for short), which feeds the Endocannabinoid system. We need hemp! It keeps us healthy. It balances all of our systems and is being researched a lot right now for its’ healing abilities on so many discomforts, disharmonies and dis-eases in the body (for humans and our furry friends alike).
There seems to be a lot of confusion around hemp though, so allow me a moment to clear up some of the confusion for you. Hemp is not weed, pot, or marijuana. Hemp and marijuana are actually cousins in the plant world, meaning they come from the same cannabis plant but are different species.
Marijuana is high in THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the compound that gives you the high feeling (along with the munchies and paranoia) and is low in CBD, which is what gets you healthy.
Hemp, on the other hand, is low in THC and high in CBD. I like to say that hemp gets you healthy, not high. And industrial hemp, which is what is grown for the production of CBD oil products has to be .3% or less in THC in order to be legal in the US.
Now that you know the difference between hemp and marijuana, let’s talk about CBD for a minute. CBD (cannabidiol) is one of around 85 cannabinoids that are identified and extracted from the hemp plant.
There are different methods of extraction of CBD, some, of course, being better than others. Once extracted the CBD is a thick paste and must be added to a carrier oil (usually olive, coconut or hemp seed) in order to be taken orally for the health benefits. And the benefits are plenty!!
In the plainest of plain terms, CBD oil increases overall health and wellness. How is that for a statement? It is true though. You can google any physical symptom + CBD and you will see for yourself all the many many studies that have been and are being done around the health benefits of CBD (over 20,000).
I will take a moment to list some benefits of CBD oil for you here:

As you can see, there are a lot of health benefits from one tiny little dietary supplement. Isn’t that wonderful?
I have been using CBD oil since January, and I can tell you about my experience with this spectacular supplement. I have noticed several things so far, and I say “so far” because I am noticing new things all the time. The first thing I noticed was how rested I was. I am sleeping deeper without waking up constantly. And when I get out of the bed, those first few steps used to be achy for me. I just thought that I was getting older, and I didn’t give it much thought beyond that. But now I get up and take those first few steps without any discomfort at all.
Another thing I began to notice after about two months of taking CBD oil was how fast my hair and nails were growing. I had also been dealing with uncomfortable and unhealthy skin for a while that has really been much improved. Oh and let me tell you about my monthly cycle!! Before CBD oil I would get low back and stomach discomfort before my period, and now nothing, nada, zilch. It has regulated my cycle beautifully. I cannot imagine my life without CBD oil, truly. And my story is nothing compared to so many others. People are experiencing extraordinary results with CBD oil.
